Bequests
What is a Bequest?
A bequest is when you make a gift through your will. Your gift, be it large or small, to the Senses Foundation can make a significant and lasting difference to our clients and help us achieve our vision.
Your gift can be:
- A specific sum of money;
- A percentage of your estate;
- A specific asset/s of your estate, such as property, shares, art, jewellery, or fundraising auction prizes;
- The residual of your estate, the remains after specific and general bequests to family, friends and other organizations have been made.
- Contributions to a perpetual trust
- Bequest an insurance policy
Free Will Service
Senses Foundation can provide a free will service (to an upper limit), provided on the understanding that Senses Foundation will be listed as a beneficiary in the donor’s will.
Why make a Will?
The most important reason for making a Will is to make sure that, after your death, your property is distributed in the way you would have wished it to be.
You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to ensure your final wishes are adhered to. If you don’t have a valid Will your estate will be disbursed in accordance with Government regulations.
Another important reason for making a Will is to appoint an ‘Executor’ who is the person named in your Will to ensure that all your requests are carried out. While it is possible to prepare your own will, we strongly recommend that you seek advice from a qualified solicitor to ensure that it reflects your exact intentions.
How to make your Bequest:
If you wish to make a bequest to the Senses Foundation, the following clause may used:
I give the sum of $ __________ to the Senses Foundation and I declare that the receipt of the Secretary or other authorised officer of the Foundation will be a sufficient discharge to my Trustee.
Checklist:
- Make a list of family, friends, and charity organisations you wish to see benefit from you will. These are the beneficiaries of your Will.
- List what you would like each beneficiary to receive.
- Decide who you would like to appoint as Executor of your Will.
- See a Solicitor to have your Will drawn up.
- Keep your Will in a safe place.
- Remember you can make changes to your Will.
A bequest to Senses Foundation is a gift that lives on in memory…
We hope you will be kind enough to consider leaving a bequest to Senses Foundation.
